Pasadena Police Helicopters Collide in Altadena

ALTADENA, Calif. (KTLA) — A Pasadena police helicopter clipped a second Pasadena police helicopter at a heliport at 2175 Yucca Lane in Altadena around four o’clock Saturday afternoon.

Pasadena police say one helicopter was landing while the other was taking off at the time of the incident.

Three people were on board one helicopter and two people were on board the other.

All five plus a sixth person on the ground were transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Pasadena police have set up a command post at CHP offices on Windsor Avenue just north of Woodbury in Altadena.

Both aircraft received extensive damage.

NTSB investigators are on scene trying to find the cause of the collision.
