SUN VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) — A 6-month-old baby girl is expected to be okay after nearly drowning in the toilet of her Sun Valley home.
The baby’s mother called police shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday to say her daughter had fallen into the toilet and wasn’t breathing.
When officers arrived at the home on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, they performed CPR and managed to resuscitate the girl.
She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
The woman told police that her 2-year-old daughter was playing with the infant in the bathroom and locked the door.
She said she had to kick down the door to get inside.
Doctors say this happens more than you might think. They warn that parents should always keep an eye on children around any sort of water.
