AVALON, Calif. (KTLA) — A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Avalon, near Catalina Island, early on the morning of December 14, 2012.
The quake hit at 2:36 a.m and was centered about 163 miles south-southwest of Avalon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The shaking was felt in Bell Gardens, San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage.

Off the coast of Avalon??? It was 60 miles off Rosarito Beach; it was 163 miles away from Avalon.
