Among the 26 people killed in Friday’s school shooting in Newtown, Conn., was the school’s principal, Dawn Hochsprung.
CNN reports, that Hochsprung recently installed a new security system at Sandy Hook Elementary School. In a letter to parents this fall, she said every visitor would be required to ring a doorbell at the school’s front entrance after the doors locked at 8:30 a.m.
At about that time Friday, a parent inside the school said she was meeting with Hochsprung and several others. That parent heard what she described as “pop, pop, pop” in the hallway.
She told CNN that Hochsprung was among three people who walked into the hallway. She never returned.
