Storm Drops Fresh Snow in Local Mountains
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The rain has moved out of our area for now, but it left behind plenty of snow in the local mountains.
Big Bear reported five to six inches of fresh powder on Thursday, as ski and snowboard enthusiasts from around the Southland hit the slopes for a snow day.
If you plan to visit the mountain areas, you should bring chains, but the roads are open.
All schools in the Rim of the World School District are closed on Friday due to inclement weather, according to the district’s website.
The Bear Valley Unified School District said schools there were open on Friday and buses were running, but with some possible delays.
Partly cloudy skies were expected across Southern California on Thursday, with the possibility of more rain moving in Friday night
Showers are expected to return to the region again on Saturday night. Temperatures will remain below average.
