SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KTLA) — Firefighters helped rescue a horse trapped in a ravine near Cambria Estates Road Saturday.

The rider and the horse had gone deep into the ravine and had trouble getting out as night began to fall.

The hoarse became severely fatigued.   Rescue crews decided an airlift would put too much stress on the animal.

Firefighters cut a trail and led the horse out to safety.

Both the rider and the horse were in good condition Saturday night.
