RESEDA (KTLA) — A young girl in Reseda who wandered away from home in the middle of the night had some scary moments before a pair of Good Samaritans arrived to help.

A group of friends were driving home near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Corbin Avenue around midnight Friday when they spotted the girl standing on the sidewalk.

“We saw a little girl on the corner, just standing there,” Richard Palomares said.

“Me and my girlfriend said, ‘What’s going on?’ and  looked to see if there were any adults standing around her and there wasn’t.”

That’s when Richard said they saw the girl begin to run, and they grabbed her and called 911.

Police arrived and began going door to door looking for the girl’s parents.

Within a half hour, they found a door ajar and woke up the homeowner who turned out to be the girl’s mother.

The girl was returned to her mother safe and sound.

Thank God for the people who found this precious child. I am so happy she was returned home safe. It's time for her mother to invest in additional locks that are placed too high for this child to reach.
