WEST HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) — A woman in West Hills has taken Christmas decorating to a whole new level with her collection of over 100 Christmas trees.
“I just love the forest to begin with, and I love trees,” Alison Siewert explained. “I love pine trees. They’re my favorite tree. They have so many different kinds of pine trees now available.”
For Siewert, the trees are an addiction, which she says began 13 years ago with the birth of her daughter Kristin.
“People are like, ‘Oh, it’s you who made this happen?’… Ya, it’s me,” Kristin joked.
Alison begins setting up her trees in October. It takes more than a month, and each tree has a story.
There’s a Norwegian tree because of her heritage, a tree decorated with reindeer made from wine corks and even a “Martha Stewart tree,” which is all from Macy’s.
Alison’s friends enable her addiction by buying her ornaments, which in turn prompt her to create new trees.
Alison has 103 different Christmas trees at last count. She jokes that it’s depressing — but also cleansing — when the trees all have to come down in January.
“This house is getting full, but there’s always room for a tree,” she said. “We can always find room for a tree!”
