LANCASTER, Calif. (KTLA) — Sheriff’s detectives have identified a suspect in the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Lancaster.
Investigators say 30-year-old Charles James assaulted the teen on the morning of December 13th.
The girl was walking to school in the 2000 block of East Avenue J-8, when she noticed she was being followed and crossed the street.
But detectives say the suspect followed her.
James allegedly dragged the girl into bushes and she was sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as being African-American, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dreadlocks.
Investigators are currently trying to track him down and say his last known address was in the Antelope Valley.
James has also previously lived in Los Angeles, Inglewood and Long Beach.
Detectives say he should not be approached because he is considered dangerous.
If you spot James, Call Sgt. Hudson of the Special Victims Bureau at (562) 619-1370.
