Matt Barkley Out For Sun Bowl, USC Career Over

barkleywpLOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Matt Barkley has played his last game as a Trojan, and will not play in the Sun Bowl Monday against Georgia Tech, Trojans’ coach Lane Kiffin announced Thursday.

Barkley, a senior and one-time Heisman Trophy contender,  sprained his shoulder Nov. 17 in the game against UCLA and has not played since.

Barkley passed for 36 touchdowns, with 15 interceptions, in 11 games this season.

Redshirt freshman Max Wittek will start against Georgia Tech in the New Year’s Eve bowl.

Wittek made his first career start in USC’s regular season-ending loss to Notre Dame.

    Good. University of South Crenshaw is in the middle of a jungle. Only peoeple who go to those games are Saturday Raider fans in training. He was decent because he had a good line. UCLA gave USC more than they could handle. See you in the tird round of the NFL draft Matt.
