2 Injured in House Fire in Marina del Rey

MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (KTLA) — Two people were injured, one of them critically, after a home went up in flames in Marina del Rey.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at a one-story house in the 12400 block of Verdi Street.

KTLA’s Sky5 was overhead as the two victims, a woman in her 90s and a man in his 60s, were rushed to the hospital.

The man was listed in critical condition. The woman’s injuries were not considered as serious.

It took 27 firefighters 14 minutes to knock the fire down, which was confined to the home.

Firefighters said they were unable to locate any smoke detectors inside the house. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
