LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — They might be fashionable, but some doctors are warning about a potentially harmful side effect of those ultra-tight skinny jeans.
Doctors say that an overly tight fit could actually cause nerve damage, which could become permanent if it isn’t corrected.
It happens when one of the nerves on the outer part of the thigh compresses. The pressure on the nerve causes symptoms of tingling and numbness.
Combining the jeans with ultra-high heels can worsen the effect because the pelvis tilts, which can accentuate the pressure on the nerve.
Experts say that one good option is to consider jeans that have some stretch built into them.
