LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police and the CHP will be out in force looking for drunk drivers on New Year’s Eve.
They’ll also be setting up DUI checkpoints throughout the Southland.
The LAPD says it will have undercover officers in bars looking for bartenders who over-serve, or people who are in no condition to drive.
In an effort to curb drunk driving, all Metro bus and rail lines will be free from 9 p.m. Monday until 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA) will also arrange a free tow home for your car as part of its “Tipsy Tow” service.
The service is restricted to a one-way, one-time ride of up to seven miles for the driver only.
It is available to both members and non-members of AAA by calling 1-800-400-4222.
