SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police are looking for a 19-year-old girl who was last seen leaving a New Year’s Eve party in Santa Clarita.
Friends say Sarah Alarid, of Canyon Country, left the party alone around 3 a.m, saying she was going home.
She was driving a 2002 silver Ford Focus hatchback, license plate No. 4WXE737.
The party was at a friend’s house near Soledad Canyon Road and Shadow Pines.
Friends who were with Sarah at the party say nothing out the ordinary happened that night, and they knew everyone who was around.
Her mother is holding on to hope that Sarah will be home soon.
“I know you’re a strong girl, I know you are,” she said. “This is unusual. This is not Sarah,” she added.
“She couldn’t have gone far with what she had in gas, that’s what I was told. We’ll find you, Sarah, we will. We won’t let you down.”
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at 661 255-1121.

My heart goes out to Sarah’s family and friends. I know Sarah through mutual friends and have been praying for her safe return. I am a psychotherapist and would like to offer free counseling to her family to help them through this. As a mother, I grieve with you.
