ALHAMBRA (KTLA) – A late-night shootout between suspects and officers with the Alhambra Police Department has left one officer with non-life threatening injuries, and two suspects injured as well.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of Second St. and Main St. Two suspects attempted to flee officers who were making a felony traffic stop on their vehicle.
In the process, police say the suspects first attempted to run an officer down with their vehicle, then officers opened fire on the suspects.
A witness at the scene told KTLA News she saw one of the suspects draw a gun and fire at a woman and a police officer, then she saw the police officers shoot that suspect.
The two suspects involved in the incident were injured in the exchange of gunfire and were taken to a local hospital.
Sheriff’s Homicide detectives were on the scene investigating the incident Saturday morning, as spent shell casings littered the roadway in the area of 2nd and Main in Alhambra.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500, or anonymously through “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477).

Typical scum criminals. Too bad no law abiding citizens were present, licensed and properly trained to conceal carry. Could have put a stop to it.

Really? Stop fantasizing about the good guy being present when needed. You and everyone else who are gun crazed is the reason why we have so much crime. You glorify gun violence.

I would rather not get involved. Too scared at this point.

Carrying to protect yourself and your family is one thing. Stopping and "joining in" when LEOs are in a gun battle with criminals will likely get you shot… possibly by the officers who think you are a criminal. Don't do something stupid.

Well the police officer put a stop to it when he drew his service weapon and used deadly force. Thank God no one else got hurt and the suspect will live. The sad thing is the officer that shot the suspect may be part of a civil suit now. Dead men tell no tales! I have several friends that are peace officers and trust me they have a very hard job to do. I happen to know the officer involved in this shooting and he is a more than stand up guy, I pray that he not have night mares about this issue and is able to put it behind him.

Since it was Alhambra, it was most likely some asians who couldn't drive

What is even more likely is that you are of below average intelligence…

Gui, if you want to make it racial. Main and 2nd in Alhambra is known for being the "Latino Clubbing Area" during the weekends…which influxes more people than usual from outside the community…at "2 AM on Saturday". Considering Alhambra doesn't normally have much gun violence, even at your obvious level of intelligence exhibited by your comment, even you can put the applicable racial stereotype to this situation. Yeah, Gui, because ASIANS are know for fleeing a routine traffic stop and shooting at cops.

Police Officers have lots of important training to handle firing guns in an urban area… training that most "armed" civilians do not get.
The last thing that was needed there was a couple of gun toting civilians getting involved! They probably might have been shot by the cops, thinking they were also bad guys!

none of ya know alhambra, 42 shots to stop a drunk driver the cops obviously have a zero tollerance policy
