Behind-the-Scenes at Cirque du Soleil’s “Iris”
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – The curtains are about to come down for a final time on Cirque du Soleil’s show “Iris” after its run at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
The show has featured some of the world’s best acrobatic teams, and KTLA’s Lu Parker was allowed unprecedented access for a behind-the-scenes look at the show.
The production has thrilled audiences with its tour through the world of the cinema, featuring gymnasts, contortionists, and trapeze artists like Uuve Jansson, who spilled a few of her tricks of the trade.
“You have to love it,” Jansson said. “It takes a lot, a lot of practice.”
After years of physical training and months of rehearsals, before they get to perform Uuve and her castmates spend hours in the make-up chair getting their special Cirque ‘look’ just right.
Dozens of wigs and over 200 costumes go into every night’s performance.
Cirque du Soleil’s “Iris” finishes its run at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on January 19th.
