LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) — A weather system moving into Southern California is expected to dump rain and up to three inches of snow early Sunday morning.
Strong winds also are predicted for some areas overnight, including the Grapevine along the 5 Freeway Corridor and the Cajon Pass along the 15 Freeway.
A gale watch will remain in effect until Monday morning for Long Beach.
Snow levels, which started at about 6,500 feet, are expected to drop to about 3,500 feet Sunday.
The drop in the snow level could mean snow in both the Cajon Pass as well as the Grapevine along the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles County.
California Highway Patrol officials remind motorists to be extra cautious on the roads.
