glendaleGLENDALE, Calif. (KTLA) — An elementary school in Glendale was evacuated on Monday morning due to a bomb threat.

An anonymous call about a bomb on campus was made to R.D. White Elementary School around 8:55 a.m., according to Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

School officials immediately notified police about the threat and began evacuating students.

The school’s 880 students have been moved to the parking lot of a nearby Whole Foods at Lexington Drive and Glendale Avenue.

Police and fire officials searched the campus but found no device, Lorenz said.

An “all clear” was issued about 11:45 a.m., and authorities turned the building back over to school officials.

Parents were welcome to pick up their children at the store if they bring proper identification.

Monday was the first day of classes after winter break. Security has been stepped up since the Dec. 14 school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Maybe we should outlaw bombs, oh wait there already agaist the law. I guess maybe we should just REALLY ENFORCE the laws that we have on the books and ignore the political egos who want to satisfy their own agendas.

KIds called police to Bieber and Kutcher houses. Kids called police and Coast Guards in New Port Beach. Maybe kids don't want to go back to school??? Let's not underestimate their capacity to create chaos.

We need to have better control on MEDIA in this country. Of course people are going to continue to act in this violent and psychotic regard when they in turn get national celebrity-like coverage and attention. When are we going to ACCEPT and CHANGE as a society the violence that is so constant in our communities?

Movies come out every single weekend that normalize violence and death (Texas Chainsaw 3-D for example), children's TV shows okay violence (the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have bad guys with assault weapons), and a plethora of toy guns are sold daily.

When are the people of the United States, our local communities and our representatives, going to actually TAKE ACTION to control our influencial and extremely violent, fear inducing media?

It's sad to say not many vote, not many stand up or speak out to their political representatives, and not many are even aware that the media is the culprit.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT PEOPLE!!!! Check it out:

I went to RD White school more than 30 years ago. This saddens me beyond words. Glendale and the world as a whole was a kinder, gentler place in those days.
