ROSEMEAD. Calif. (KTLA) — The story of a lost dog has a happy ending, but the drama also had a bizarre twist along the way.
Marlene Bolivar loves her dogs, and was devastated when lucky, a 4-year-old Pomeranian ran out of the family’s yard back in August.
Lucky’s doggie buddy was depressed, along with Marlene’s entire family. They canvassed their neighborhood and hung flyers offering a reward.
Within weeks, a mysterious w
oman called their house asking how much Marlene would pay.
“I don’t really have a lot of money, so I didn’t offer a big amount,” Marlene explained. “The lady told me let me see what my friends say, and I’ll give you a call back.”
That woman never called back, and Marlene thought Lucky was gone forever.
But five months later and more than 350 miles away, Lucky has been found wandering the streets of Sacramento.
This time, the runaway pooch was taken into the right hands. Animal control officers scanned his microchip and contacted Marlene.
How the dog got all the way to Sacramento remains something of a mystery.
“He’s not talking. I’ve asked him repeatedly how he got here, and he’s not talking,” joked Sacramento Animal Control Officer Gina Knepp.
“His feet look OK, so he must have hitched a ride with somebody,” she added.
Marlene is now awaiting Lucky’s return to Los Angeles with open arms.

The woman looking for money in return for the dog is a disgrace to mankind. Some people are disgusting tho when it comes to money and pets. She must know that her day will come and it wont be pretty either.
I say, Shame On Her!!!!! Nice to hear this story does have a happy ending. Lucky belongs with his family.

You should have been able to tell from the title what kind of article it is, only a complete moron reads or participates in articles they think are dumb.

Lady who called didn't know where the dog was, she was just trying to figure out how to make a buck out of the situation. Talk about a bottom feeder. But hey people even got busted for trying to rip off the Katrina, BP spill and 9/11 funds.

I just drove down yesterday from Sac. Too bad I couldn’t have brought her pet down with me to return to her. I know how painful it is to lose a furrkid and would happily have helped return one to home.
