santa-ana-oisSANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) — An investigation is underway into a deadly officer-involved shooting in Santa Ana early Friday morning.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. in the 200 block of North Maxine Street, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

Two officers in a police unit spotted a man sitting in the back seat of a car that was parked outside a home.

They pulled over and approached the car on foot. The man jumped into the driver’s seat and allegedly drove the car toward the officers.

That’s when the officers opened fire, hitting the suspect, who then drove into a parked car.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were hurt in the incident.

The suspect’s identity has not been released. He has been described only as an adult Asian male. It was unclear if he lived in the area.

Really? Was it necessary to shoot the man? Granted, he looks sorta guilty of something, but I don't know that the death penalty is warranted.

Yes really! Let's not forget that the unfortunate fool was aiming a deadly weapon at the officers; he sealed his own fate when he chose to do harm to those who serve and protect.

Let's not forget J.H. that police officers don't have each other's backs and lie to make their side of the story seem like it was justified. Nope. No cases of this in history. Not even a prosecution for this type of thing. Never happens. Ever. FOX News and Rush Limbaugh told me the Democrats make that stuff up so it's gotta be true.

if he hit a parked car that means he wouldnt have hit them!……..just because somebody drives off in their car doesnt give the police the right to murder them!……the police in this country are making people hate them…….and that sure as hell doesnt make their job very safe!…..i just cannot beleive that this goes on all the time and the citizens are sheep and dont say anything about it!….the police work for the tax payers, we do not work for them!……this s**t is out of control……….i bet it would matter if they shot a senators son or a movie stars son,,,,,wouldnt it!……..i say shoot the s**t out of REAL CRIMINALS,but not just give these dicks free rane to just open fire on anybody that looks at them funny…..GEEEEEEEEZZZZZ!……..

One less wannabe tough guy off the streets. Good job police, clean up the trash the Gov. has giving free stuff to and released from prison again. Police saved the tax payers some.

They don't say how this man is a father .They don't say how he was possibly tired and sleeping in the back seat when randomly someone bangs on his windshield at 1 am. Obviously he would freak out and try to start his car and drive away. They don't say how the side driver window was broken by bullets and not the windshield. If he was truly trying to run the officers over, he would need a car that drive side ways. This is a case of police brutality.
