GRAPEVINE (KTLA) – California Highway Patrol officials on Saturday (Jan. 12) once again closed the Golden State Freeway in both directions through the Grapevine due to icy and treacherous road conditions.
The freeway was closed for a 19.5 mile stretch from Parker Rd. in Castaic to Smokey Bear Rd. in Lebec.
Northbound traffic on the freeway was forced to exit at Parker Rd., as CalTrans worked to clear the dangerous road conditions.
Most of the ice was reported on the Kern County side of the freeway.
KTLA 5’s Doug Kolk has more.
