RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KTLA) — A Caltrans worker was hospitalized with severe injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near downtown Riverside.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. Monday at the Highway 91 off-ramp at 14th Street.
The driver sped away, but Riverside police did catch up with him about a mile from the scene.
He is now being investigated by California Highway Patrol officers. The off-ramp at 14th Street was closed for the investigation.
