‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Actor Conrad Bain Dies at 89

The Alameda County coroner’s office cobain-picnfirmed Wednesday that “Diff’rent Strokes” actor Conrad Bain died at a Livermore-area hospital.

He died Monday, officials said. He was 89.

The cause of death has not been determined, and coroner’s officials said it’s not clear whether a doctor will sign the death certificate or whether there will be a formal review of his death.

His daughter told the Associated Press that Bain died of natural causes and had been ill for some time.

BainĀ  played the wealthy Phil Drummond for eight seasons on the NBC comedy “Diff’rent Strokes.” He also co-starred in the long-running “Maude.”

Hmm, I just looked Conrad Bain up on IMDB 2 days ago, and was thinking about the Diff'rent Strokes curse.

Gary Coleman – DEAD. Dana Plato – DEAD. Charlotte Rae – DEAD. Nedra Volz (the other maid) – DEAD. Conrad Bain – DEAD.

Todd Bridges is the only survivor, and he's a washed up has-been and never-will-be-again "actor".

It's just so sad about that whole cast. Amazing (stunning, really) that Todd Bridges is the only cast member still standing. At least Mr. Bain was on in years (89 is a pretty good run) and not taken down by drugs and such like some of the others on the cast. All the same, it's too bad that he's now among the other dead celebrities this year http://www.ranker.com/list/celebrity-deaths-2013-famous-.... Hopefully he's peaceful wherever he is.

But he lived a full life as did Charlotte Rae (I didn't know she had passed) the others had problems.

        Charlotte Rae isn't dead.
