Students Ask President For Help to Attend Inauguration
HUNTINGTON BEACH (KTLA) – Nearly two dozen High School seniors from Huntington Beach will be heading to Washington, DC next week in hopes of attending the Presidential Inauguration.
The students from Edison High School have spent the past year planning for the trip, including securing airline tickets and booking hotel rooms. However, they have yet to secure tickets to the January 21 ceremony. But that’s not for a lack of effort.
The students have reached out to members of Congress for help and have also sent a letter to the White House in hopes to get the attention of the president.
“We’ve contacted everyone that basically could help us in any way shape or form,” said senior Brooke Simon. “We’re still waiting to hear back from the president, hopefully he can help us out”.
Even if they do not get the tickets to the actual ceremony, the students still plan on taking the trip and tell KTLA that they will have a good time.
