SANTA MONICA — A dangerous high-speed pursuit through the streets of Venice and Santa Monica ended with the arrest of the driver.
The pursuit began after a 911 call regarding a theft at a Vons Market in Santa Monica.
Two people were detained at the store, but 2 others took off in a black sedan.
Responding officers followed the suspects for miles on the crowded beach area streets.
At one
point the car pulled onto a side street and a passenger ran off on foot.
The car then backed up and continued the pursuit.
The driver pulled over about 10 minutes later near the Santa Monica Airport and surrendered.
No word on whether the second suspect was apprehended.
