JEFFERSON PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — A knife-wielding man was shot by police inside a market in Jefferson Park Friday morning.
It happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the Advance Food Market in the 5400 block of West Adams Blvd.
Police responded to a disturbance call about a man wielding a knife inside the market, according to LAPD Sgt. Rudy Lopez.
Officers made contact with the man and tried to get him to drop the knife. That’s when an officer-involved shooting occurred, Lopez said.
Sky5 was overhead as the man was wheeled into an ambulance. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
No officers were hurt in the incident. The shooting is now under investigation.
