Thousands of new apps hit the market every month. We’re picking out some of the best ones in the January edition of Apps to Know.
This month, we have apps that help you keep your new year’s resolution to stay fit. And, a game just as addictive as Angry Birds.
Let’s start with Obstacles XRT. Trek over tires, jump over trees, climb under fences – all without leaving your living room. The iOS app turns your room into a virtual obstacle course. There are three challenging levels and the plyometric exercises keep those calories burning even after your workout. All for $5.
Can’t keep track of what apps you’ve approved to access your information? MyPermissions lets users manage app access to accounts like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Though it’s been available on the web and iOS, the Android version was recently launched in December.
Flying on one of Delta’s WiFi equipped planes just got more interesting. With the Fly Delta iPad app, the “glass bottom jet” setting lets you virtually see the ground below you when you hit 10,000 feet. The view of the plane flying over the map also allows you to see landmarks and messages from your social networks, such as check-ins from Facebook friends.
And from the developers of one of Angry Birds, one of the most popular games in mobile gaming history, comes a new physics-based racing game. Noble Nutlings calls for players to guide a trio of squirrels through a course with options to spin, jump and accelerate.
Those are your Apps to Know for January.
