GLENDORA, Calif. (KTLA) — A Glendora man is giving away free hugs all day on Monday, and it’s all for a good cause.
David Parsons is hoping to set a new Guinness world record for the most hugs in a 24-hour period by one person.
Jonathan Sexton holds the current world record with 8,709 hugs.
As of 8 p.m. Parson’s was at 2, 883 hugs.
He’s hoping the raise money for Grants Wishes, a non-profit that helps children battling cancer relapse.
Parsons says he was inspired after losing a friend to cancer.
If you want to donate a hug to David, he’ll be outside the ESPN Zone in downtown L.A. until 11 p.m. on Monday.
You can also donate to Grants Wishes by going to hugs4wishes.com.
