L.A. City Council Puts Restrictions on Skateboarding
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The L.A. City Council Wednesday adopted new safety measures aimed at making skateboarding on city streets safer.
The move followed the deaths of two skate boarders in 2012.
The council aimed to prevent skateboard “bombing” – the practice of zooming downhill on city streets, often reaching speeds approaching 40 miles per hour.
The new ordinance also required skateboarders to follow city traffic laws.
