Snoop to Educate Kids About Smoking Pot

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Rapper Snoop Lion (formerly known as Snoop Dogg) says he wants to help educate children on smoking weed.

Snoop, who has donated over $50,000 of weight training equipment as well as coaches eight and nine year olds at the Orange County Junior All America Football League, says he wants to teach kids how to avoid irresponsible drug use.

He told GQ magazine that he’s not trying to push marijuana on kids.

“But if they wanted to, I would love to show them how,” he said. “The right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their s*** or overdose or trying some s*** that ain’t clean.”

Snoop also has plans to back up his talk with some literature — a children’s book, to be exact.

The book, called “It’s Just a Plant: A Children’s Story of Marijuana,” is about a little girl who is taught the “awesomeness” of pot by her parents.

Why? That's all I have to say. Why? I will admit that he's changed his life quite a lot but I remember reading an article recently that he smokes pot with his adult son. Sorry but he shouldn't be talking to kids about this.

He was also recently caught carrying a concealed weapon, a gun specifically.

His son chose to smoke pot first. he didnt introduce him to it or say "SMOKE THIS SON ITS GOOD FOR YOU" he told his dad he smoked and now they have a new way to bond. And he is trying to educate kids so they dont grow up to be ignorant adults such as you and everyone else commenting on this.

And this is suppose to be beneficial to our kids and the community?! What a joke! The only thing our kids will be learning from this is to become good at wasting their lives while smoking pot.

You seem to be under the impression that marijuana is going to cause someone to ruin their life. I will not deny that there are a lot of people who have wasted their lives and do smoke marijuana a lot, but the plant is not to blame. People like this would have not gone anywhere with their lives anyway. If you are a hard working individual and have goals, smoking pot will not erase those goals. You have to use responsibly and be smart. Maybe Snoop isn't the best person to be doing it, (because of the obvious negative feedback in these comments), but there does need to be more public information about marijuana and people need to learn the facts before they just regurgitate what they've been told their whole lives. This stigma needs to end. If people learned the truth, and this hypocritical thinking was finally abandoned, our kids and the community would be greatly benefited.

Just because somebody smokes pot does not mean they are wasteing their life. I’m a daily smoker and a Deans list student at one of the nations top universities. I’m at truely sorry if you can’t see past the propaganda you have been fed your entire life.

I smoke a lot of pot. I got my B.A. at USC in Business-Marketing and I'm currently working for a firm that I will not disclose to you because of drug testing policy. LOL believe what you want, your views are about marijuana users are a bit ignorant. :)

Society is really going to "pot". Literally and figuratively. Why don't you teach the kids how to get an education and grow up to be a responsible adult.

This comment makes me sad… sad that there are actually people out there that have such corrupted beliefs. Maybe next time before you want to make all kinds of false accusations about a plant you should do the research and read the studies that have proven otherwise. Hoping you go out and learn to be a leader rather than someone who just files into society and believes everything you're told.

The ignorance in this thread is astounding! True, Snoop isnt the best role model, but he has the right idea! the fact is, kids (and when i say kids, im talking 15+) are introduced to pot normally in late middle school or at some point in high school. Above anything else, the government makes people curious about weed because 1) its labeled by so many people as a bad thing and 2) despite the "facts" that say pot is bad, why do so many people still smoke it? Ill tell you why, it is human nature to be curious about some things, and when there is evidence from the govt. saying that weed is bad, why do a lot of my friends smoke it?

My brain can't handle the level of ignorance in this thread. Can't wait until we move into a generation of free thinkers, people who don't have clouded ideas about cannabis due to government propaganda. Cannabis is a healing plant, both medically and economically. Legalizing cannabis will create thousands of jobs, improve the economy, lower drug use, lower gang violence, etc. Legalizing and EDUCATING about cannabis will pave the way for a future where cannabis is no longer taboo and talked about as a "gateway drug."
