MOSCOW – A 1-year old girl barely escaped death after being ejected from a car during a crash on an icy Russian highway.
According to Russian news reports the 53-year-old driver lost control of his SUV when trying to overtake another car.
The vehicle spun around and hit the back of a truck.
The child, who was not strapped in, was thrown from the car landing face down on the pavement.
As the girl tried to stand up in the street, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and snatched her off the street as the big rig approached.
The entire ordeal was captured on the dashboard camera of a vehicle driving right behind the crash.
Police say the girl had been placed on the shelf under the back windshield and not in a carseat.
Russian news reports say she suffered injuries to her head and face.
