The Lego company is being accused of racis
m over a new Star Wars toy.
It’s a model of Jabba’s Palace, the home of Jabba the Hutt.
But Austria’s Turkish Financial Trading School says it looks like the Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul and the Jami’ al-Kabir mosque in Beirut.
They say the accompanying figures depict Asians as “sneaky and criminal personalities.”
The Turkish Cultural Community of Austria is calling on Lego to “apologize publicly for the violation of religious and cultural feelings.”
Lego says the model does not reflect any actual building or people, and the figures are all modeled on characters from the movie.
