LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – The Los Angeles Unified School District is set to hire 1,000 new security aides to beef up security on LAUSD campuses.
Under the new plan more than 400 elementary school campuses will have more security guards. That means each campus should get at least two new aides.
The personnel additions could happen as early as March 1st.
The guards will be unarmed, but they will wear vests and be equipped with two-way radios for better communication.
The plan is expected to cost the LAUSD roughly $4.2 million.

No guns ? but vests(hopefully bullet proof)but radios for better communication so they can talk to each other? what would they say? "I see the gunman I'm going to order him to drop his weapon . I've been shot! he just shot 9 kids and is reloading hurry call the police".more wasted money on stupid ineffective programs . I wonder how many more kids will have to die before they take child safety seriously.
