NEWARK, N.J. (KTLA) — Mayor Cory Booker was being credited with saving the life of a dog left out in the freezing cold.
A local news reporter alerted the mayor Thursday night that the dog, which is named Cha-Cha, was shivering in the front yard of a house.
Mayor Booker went to the home to find the canine then put it in a police car to warm up.
He was able to locate the owner’s cell phone number and gave him a call.
The owner, who was visiting friends in New York, said he was unaware that Cha-Cha had gotten out.
He was thankful to the Mayor, especially since Cha-Cha has recently given birth to a litter.
