Sideshow Car Stunts Stop Traffic on I-880 in Oakland

OAKLAND — The California Highway Patrol would like to have a few words with a group of drivers who briefly shut down interstate 880 in Oakland on Saturday.

The northbound lanes near the coliseum came to a standstill while several drivers smoked their tires and spun donuts in the middle of the highway.

At least a half-dozen cars were involved.

It lasted several minutes until someone shouted “five-oh” — to warn the cops were coming.

At that point, everyone sped away.

The CHP is investigating — and is probably taking a close look at the videos to see if they can read any of the license plates.

Goes to show you that cops aren't around when you need them. Shut down the freeway for a few minutes and smoked tires like a BBQ and not a cop in site or in smoking site of the scene. So what will they do if they catch one? Tell them how 'wrong' that was? And that 'we do not approve'? Take the car, have them stand there while you crush it in a press. Then revoke their license for life.
