LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police were searching for a suspect in Athens who was in custody, but managed to escape from authorities.
It happened around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday as L.A. County sheriff’s deputies made an arrest on a narcotics violation.
The suspect got into a fight with one deputy and physically assaulted him. He then fled on foot, still in handcuffs.
He is described as a Hispanic male about 5’8″ to 5’10″ and 165 to 170 pounds with a tattoo on his left hand. He was last seen waring a black jacket and black shorts.
Deputies set up a perimeter for a time, but it has since been cleared.
