HANCOCK PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — Firefighters were called to a blaze at a four-story condo complex in Hancock Park early Wednesday.
The fire broke out around 1 a.m. at a complex at Wilshire Boulevard and Rossmore.
Firefighters said flames were on the roof of the building and extended into the attic.
An elevator room and air conditioning unit on the roof were on fire.
People ran from their units in the middle of the night, and one woman said the emergency exit door was locked.
“It wasn’t that dangerous, but just in case, my grandma, my dog and my grandpa went down the emergency exit,” Alice Jung said.
“We didn’t know how to get out, so we went all the way down, but it was locked over there,” she explained.
Three condos were heavily damaged in the fire, but no one was hurt. The cause of the blaze is now under investigation.
