ONTARIO, Calif. (KTLA) — Police are expected to resume digging in the backyard of a home in Ontario on Friday, looking for clues in the disappearance of a truck driver.
Oscar Javier Contreras Escobar, 29, was reported missing by family members on Sept. 4.
Investigators assisted by cadaver dogs are searching the house for possible evidence.
Police say their are indications that Escobar may have met with foul play and that the location may be linked to his disappearance.
“Our focus right now is to thoroughly search the area inside the house and the backyard area and ensure that any items of evidentiary value are located,” said Ontario police Sgt. David McBride.
Family members say Escobar, who lives in Laguna Hills but frequents the Inland Empire, was last seen between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Aug. 28, shortly after completing a long haul from the East Coast.
After he arrived in Victorville with his big rig, a friend dropped off Escobar in Fontana, near Foothill Boulevard and Mongo Street, where he was expecting to meet up with a woman.
Sheriff’s investigators later found suspicious ATM transactions tied to his bank accounts.
The investigation into those transactions led police to the home in Ontario, a home that neighbors say police have visited quite often over the years.
“It’s been raided about five times in 10 years. It was raided a few months ago,” one man, who did not want to be identified, told KTLA.
“Activity left and right… day and night,” he said. “This doesn’t surprise anybody that something has happened here.”
Police won’t say much about the evidence that they’ve found so far, only that there are good reasons why they’re so focused on this home.
“Of course the activity on the credit cards, certainly it’s a possibility that these people were involved,” McBride said.
“Detectives don’t feel comfortable talking about that at this point, but again it was because of those individuals and the folks that live at the house is why we are here today.”

This story has nothing to do with anyone no matter what their race milking the system, it has to do with a missing person. How do you know this missing person milked the system? He was a truck driver, decent job.

I am Mexican, with a BA and now working on my Masters. I know for a fact the majority of Mexican's are smarter than you. We might be "milking" the system, but at least we are SMART enough to do it.

Just ignore people like @mark who generalize others based on race, ethnicity, etc. He's looking to create chaos, don't give him the satisfaction. Intelligent people realize that there are exceptional, kind, smart people from every background. That is what makes America such a great place!
