Get a “Taste of Soul” cooking, learn about to start a new business or expand your existing business, or demonstrate your show biz talents at a variety show. You can do all of this and more at the 3rd Annual Black History Month Expo Celebration in Temecula.
Free and open to the public, the LA Art Book Fair is a unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, and periodicals presented by 220 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from twenty-one countries.
Learn about this! The North American F-86 Sabre, one of the jets of the Korean War. At the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, meet retired U.S. Navy captain Royce Williams, an F9F Panther pilot during the Korean War. Also, the museum’s F-86 will perform a flight demonstration.
The roar of dirt bikes will be heard Saturday the Monster Energy Supercross competition at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Look for high flying super stars Davi Millsaps, Trey Canard, and Ryan Dungey.
Stay on the ground and help the Theodore Payne Foundation’s family of volunteers maintain and improve their gardens. Clear, clean, plant, mulch, prune and more to show how beautiful native plant gardens can be. Bring hat, gloves, knee pads or other tools for personal use. The foundation provides shovels, trowels, rakes, loppers, hoes and pruners, as well as refreshments.
Feel free to stay late after your labor to learn about California Native Plants at a lecture – “Reimaging the California Lawn with Bart O’Brien. O’Brien will teach you how to replace your boring, ecologically unsound lawn with what he considers exciting and drought tolerant plants. A book signing follows the lecture.
Let’s hike! Walk, on what’s described as a fairly easy five mile hike from Zuma Beach, watch whales as you pass over Point Dume and then enjoy the beach for brunch at Paradise Cove.
