Groundhog Day 2013 Forecasts Early Spring

GOBBLER’S KNOB, PENNSYLVANIA – According to Punxsutawney Phil — if you can believe a groundhog — it will be an early spring this year.

Today on Groundhog Day 2013, the iconic groundhog emerged from his burrow and did not see his shadow.

According to folklore, if Phil surfaces and sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, we’re all in for another six weeks of winter.

But on this shadowless Saturday in Gobbler’s Knob, the news means that we’ll be seeing the early spring break the winter chill sooner rather than later.
