Robert De Niro Honored at TCL Chinese Theatre — Wendy Burch Reports

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) — Robert De Niro’s handprints were immortalized in cement Monday morning at a ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

De Niro, 69, who has been appearing in films since 1963, is up for an Academy Award this year for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook.”

The actor won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in in 1974 for “The Godfather: Part 2″ and Best Actor in 1980 for “Raging Bull.”

His handprints will be among the nearly 200 hand and footprints of other iconic names that blanket the famed theater’s courtyard, including Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne and Shirley Temple.
