Band Instructor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen — Jennifer Gould Reports

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (KTLA) — A local high school band instructor has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old female student.

Albert Anthony Morales, 33, was arrested at his home in Diamond Bar on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Morales allegedly assaulted the girl in the summer of 2006, while she was a student at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton.

According to authorities, Morales had been tutoring band students, specifically as a percussion instructor, for the past 13 years.

He has taught or volunteered at Diamond Bar High School (1998-2000), Sunny Hills High (2004-2009) and Diamond Ranch High School (2012-2013).

Morales is being held on $130,000 bail. He is expected to appear at the Pomona Superior Courthouse on Thursday.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing, and they believe there may be additional victims.
