LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) – You might need to get out your umbrella on Friday — scattered showers are expected to hit the Southland.
A wind advisory has also been issued with gusts up to 40 mph coming from the west. The advisory will remain in effect until late Friday evening.
Meantime, a winter storm warning is in effect for the local mountain areas through at least Friday night.
Snow levels are expected to drop to around 2,000 to 3,000 feet.
Six to 10 inches of snow are expected above 4,000 feet, with less than four inches below 4,000 feet.
The Antelope Valley and foothills could see a dusting of snow. There is also a chance of thunderstorms with small hail.
Snow, icy conditions and gusty winds could create hazardous driving conditions, with potential road closures through Friday night for the I-5 corridor.
The wintry weather could also impact Highway 14 at Soledad Canyon, Highway 138 in the Antelope Valley and Highway 33 in the Ventura County mountains.
Temperatures expected to reach the upper 50s on Friday. Clouds and gloomy conditions will cover the Southland until after midnight.
