WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) — Police are searching for a female serial bank robber in the Los Angeles area known as the “Purse Packing” bandit.
She is wanted in a series of bank heists that occurred late last year.
She hit a Citibank in the 8000 block of Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood in October 2012 and a Chase Bank in the 300 block of North Fairfax Blvd. in Los Angeles in November 2012.
She also struck two banks last December — a Bank of America in the 8000 block of Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood and a Chase Bank in the 3000 block of Crenshaw Blvd in Los Angeles.
According to police, the suspect appears to wear a wig and carries a large purse, which she claims contains a gun.
She then hands over a note to the teller demanding cash.
The suspect is described as a black female in her mid-30s to mid-40s. She’s about 5’2″ to 5’4″ tall and about 120 to 140 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI, the LAPD or the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
