LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A woman is in stable condition after she was shot during an attempted carjacking in the mid-Wilshire district.
It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday near Pico and Redondo boulevards.
Police say a man tried to open the woman’s car door, but couldn’t get in. He then shot the woman.
The victim was able to drive away and went about three miles before she pulled over at Fairfax Avenue and Venice Boulevard and called police.
She was hit in the shoulder, and is expected to be okay.
Police said the shooting does not appear to be gang-related.
