Then again, perhaps the pope realized ( to his credit ), that the job he had was political and not spiritual, took a leap in faith, and or prayed, and resigned. "Quote MKJV" " Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Although principalities in the original Greek of the new testament means "people ruled" ie most countries today, lasi I looked the Vatican was a principality

REPLY TO PACIFICO"The real skinny on why he is stepping down…." He's pushing 90 yrs old. Where's Sherlock when ya need him. He spent 71yrs in humble service to sinners like us. He has earned our respect and peaceful golden years. REPLY TO "WHITE POWER" there are countless religious child molesters in every faith. The ones pertaining to Catholic can be found under the heading of "CATHOLIC priest…….." The other religous child molesters can be found under the heading of "Religous leader……." Thanks for joining the ranks of self loathing, left wing, hatemongering, bigoted, end-times, lack of common sense, losers who are sorry they can't vote for O a 3rd time.

Its all very well, but throughout this whole resignation thing not once have I heard the "Christ" mentioned, He after all has a scriptural base, the pope does not, nor does the Catholic Church as it stands today, for that matter from the times of Constantine it has been so.
