Security to Be Extra Tight at Academy Awards
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The national focus on gun violence has put pressure on the LAPD to increase security at the Oscars Sunday.
There will likely be an extra heavy police presence around the Dolby Theater for this year’s ceremony.
Officially the LAPD is not saying that anything is different this year, but several law enforcement sources have confirmed that there will definitely be more uniformed and undercover officers involved in the security detail Sunday night.
There will also be multiple street and sidewalk closures in effect Sunday.
