Burglary Suspects Arrested After 100-mph Pursuit

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Speeds topped 120 mph as two burglary suspects led police on a dangeorus pursuit across three counties on Tuesday.

pursuit-arrestThe driver was going so fast and driving so dangerously that, at points, pursuing officers backed off and let a CHP helicopter take over. Even so, the two suspects didn’t slow down.

Starting in Chino Hills, the pursuit stretched through multiple counties and along multiple freeways, from the 71 to the 105 and 110.

Estimated speeds got as high was 20 mph, with the driver not slowing down, even while riding on the freeway berm.

The chase got even more dangerous when the suspects exited the 110 Freeway at Florence, driving into opposite lanes of traffic.

The narrowly missed several pedestrians, including a boy on a skateboard, a couple wheeling a baby across the street and a little girl pulled out of the way at the last minute.

The driver finally got out and tried to make a run for it, but he apprehended shortly thereafter.

So, too, was a female passenger, who fled on foot after police say she crashed into a bus while trying to drive off in the car.
