ORANGE — Authorities on Saturday morning (Mar. 2) reported that they had re-captured an inmate they say escaped from a maximum security jail in Orange County.
The Sheriff’s Department says the man went missing from Theo Lacy Facility at 501 City Drive around 10 a.m. Friday.
The inmate, Saith Na is 26 years old, male Asian of Cambodian descent, 5 feet 8 inches and 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Investigators followed up on information that Na was in the Oceanside area. He was located in a motel in Oceanside Saturday morning and was taken into custody without incident.
He was originally booked into Orange County Jail on August 26, 2012 by Santa Ana Police Department for robbery, narcotics, weapons possession and criminal street terrorism.
The last escape from Theo Lacy occurred in January 2012, when a 39-year-old Newport Beach man assigned to a work detail in the jail’s kitchen broke a window and escaped.
The man was found within 24 hours and returned to the jail. That incident was believed to be the first escape from the Lacy jail in 20 years.

Yeah, and he was in a motel? Sure would like to know their check in process. Civilian clothes? Credit card on file?….NOT!. Wonder if the desk clerk has been canned yet. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the story and learning who else is complicit in the escape and any other aiding of this criminal.
