PANORAMA CITY, Calif. (KTLA) – A Panorama City hospital was evacuated and a man was arrested after a bomb scare Sunday evening, according to authorities.
The man walked into the lobby of the Mission Community Hospital at about 6:30 p.m. and allegedly declared publicly that he had a bomb, police said.
The man was taken into custody and a bomb squad examined the bag that he had been carrying.
“We were able to spit open the bag with a water cannon, utilized by the bomb squad’s robot. We investigated the contents and found out it was only clothing — there was no suspicious device in there,” said LAPD Captain Jeff Burt.
A total of 31 people had been evacuated in the incident.
